Sunday Motivation: How to be fruitful in all area's of your life
Before attending church this morning I took some time out to read my devotional for the day. Although it is a devotional specifically about marriage and praying for my husband, Gods word tends to apply to every aspect and every area of our lives wherever we find ourselves. The verse was derived from John 15:5 which said, "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me and I in him, bears much fruit; for without me, you can do nothing."
We as entrepreneurs get so caught up in the hustle and bustle of our daily business affairs and reaching success that we allow ourselves to get disconnected from the source of prosperity, which is God. We then find ourselves in one of two categories, fruitless and suffering or fruitful and suffering.
Those who fall into the category of fruitless and suffering are typically those who are constantly working but producing little to no success. On the other hand, you have those who work their tails off and produce a lot of what looks like fruit, but are still searching for more. They are the ones who can have the world but still be unhappy. That's because at the end of the day, they are in the same category as the fruitless sufferer because the fruit they have put all their time into and labored day and night for is one that provides no substance.
The only way to produce the type of fruit that will provide goodness to your soul is to stay connected to the vine. Take your mind off of money and put your mind on the one who has promised to do "Exceedingly, abundantly, above all you could ever ask or think."
Develop a strong relationship with God through prayer and constant fellowship. Take time out to tend to others needs before your own. Don't stop working, don't stop asking, don't stop moving forward, and through it all, do not get disconnected from the vine.
